Position Details
- Duration: 3 years (extendable up to 4 years for teaching, supervision, and research assistance).
- Start date: no later than 1 October 2026.
- Location: Department of Informatics, Blindern, Oslo.
- Univ. policy: no applicant may be appointed for more than one PhD Research Fellowship at UiO.
Research Focus
This PhD project aims to study the convergence of HPC and AI/ML. The candidate will work closely with the newly established HPC Research Group and its collaborators (Simula, Inria, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, University of Tokyo, etc.) on the following themes:
- New algorithms for parallel/distributed AI/ML.
- Hardware‑aware and resource‑efficient partitioning for parallel/distributed AI/ML.
