The Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre, is a busy 88 bed Acute Care and 79 bed Continuing Care facility. The facility’s Acute Care hosts a mix of General Medicine, Special Care, Palliative, Surgical and Obstetrics beds. The Wetaskiwin Pharmacy provides pharmacy services to both Acute and Continuing Care patients at the site as well as the busy Emergency Department. Wetaskiwin Hospital provides a supportive, multidisciplinary environment for pharmacists, where they provide specialized and general medicine care to patients as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, directly engaging with patients and focusing on clinical activities. The Pharmacy department is supported by a team of Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants, led by the Operations Manager for Central Zone North, working towards their full scope of practice.
