People and Talent Operations Manager

We are looking for a People and Talent Operations Manager with strong experience to be the founding HR member at one of our client's organisation which is a fast-growing fintech startup.

You’ll own the full people function across both Canada and the U.S., standing up structured processes where things have previously been handled ad hoc. This is a high-impact role where you’ll build onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and compliance frameworks from the ground up while also supporting recruiting coordination.

What will you be doing?

• Own and run payroll, contractor payments, and benefits administration across the US and Canada
• Stand up and maintain structured employee onboarding and offboarding processes (offer letters, I‑9s, compliance, legal considerations)
• Ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple jurisdictions (US and Canadian entities)
• Support recruiting efforts including managing the ATS (Ashby), ...
