PEACE Counsellor Temporary Full‑Time Position (until return of incumbent)
The South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS) is seeking a temporary Full‑Time PEACE Counsellor to join the Counselling team at our Administrative Office.
ABOUT THE SOCIETY Located in the South Okanagan, SOWINS is a non‑profit society providing safe refuge and community‑based resources for women and children. SOWINS operates transitional and second‑stage housing facilities, including counselling and outreach services. We work from an intersectional feminist philosophy and support trauma‑informed practice and harm reduction models.
ABOUT THE ROLE The PEACE Counsellor provides psycho‑educational programming, support, education and advocacy for children who have witnessed abuse, and emotional and parenting support to parents.
