Parking Control Officer
Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, may vary
What You’ll Do
You’ll enforce Fort Wayne City Code Statutes and issue citations to vehicles parked in violation of the statutes. Assist with the enforcement of applicable laws and City policies relating to residential parking and abandoned vehicle code infractions. Parking Control Officer will work with the public in situations that may become confrontational. Errors in judgment may cause substantial inconveniences and costs to the City, vehicle owners and/or the public.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce parking codes on city streets, shopping centers, and residential areas
- Issue informational warnings and citations as necessary
- Receive and respond to citizen complaints concerning abandoned vehicles and issue tickets as necessary
- Collect money from meters when necessary
- Pick up stolen bicycles and transport them to storage
