On-Site Mechanical Engineer — Support World-Class Telescopes

Las Campanas Observatory in Chile is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist (MES) to support the du Pont and Swope telescopes. The position is full-time, with a unique schedule of 7 nights on duty followed by 7 nights off, offering an exciting opportunity to work in a stunning location in the Andes.

Qualified candidates will have an advanced degree in engineering and experience in mechanical systems, along with fluency in English and Spanish. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and supporting astronomical programs, including travel opportunities.
