Essential Job Functions
- Under the direction of the RN preceptor, provides patient care through an interdisciplinary approach by assessing, planning, providing care and evaluating outcomes. Assures necessary communication with the healthcare team to assist the patient in meeting their goals.
- Under the direction of the RN preceptor, performs nursing interventions and documents according to policy and procedure assuring patient safety. Ie: medication administration, medication reconciliation, fall prevention, VTE prevention, and all prescribed interventions as appropriate.
- Assists the RN preceptor in the practice of professional nursing by providing direct patient care to promote patient comfort and facilitate the performance of diagnostic and treatment procedures as outlined in the nursing care plan.
