Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct liquid penetrant inspection.
• Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect defects.
• Interpret and document liquid penetrant inspection.
• Interpret conductivity meters and visual indicators.
• Interpret radiographs.
• Prepare surface for liquid penetrant inspection.
• Use electromagnetic eddy current testing methods.
• Establish NDI techniques and calibration standards.
• Calibrate, test and interpret ultrasonic equipment.
• Set up, calibrate, operate and interpret magnetic particle, eddy current, liquid penetrant, acoustic emission, and infrared thermographic equipment.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
• Instruct and supervise trainees.
• Maintain test result reports.
