Job Summary

Perform humane capture and harvesting of fur-bearing and game species in accordance with applicable regulations. Conduct field operations including tracking, trapping, harvesting, and site maintenance in remote outdoor environments.

Main Duties

• Set, monitor and service traps, snares and other capture devices; check traplines regularly and handle captured animals humanely.
• Track and locate target species using signs, calls and scenting techniques to maintain effective traplines and hunting areas.
• Maintain, repair and prepare trapping and hunting equipment, blinds, shelters and field tools for safe field use.
• Process, skin, grade and prepare pelts or harvests for transport, storage or sale following established handling procedures.
