POSITION PURPOSE:
Monitor and upgrade servers in order to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure server uptime of a) Proactive patching of server software
- Keeping systems current on server software releases
- Proactively monitor system critical resources
- Communicate and document changes
- Effectively plan changes during off hours with contingency plans in place
- Supporting systems during off hours
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
- Negotiating and administrating service contracts.
