Overview
he Mitigation Research Specialist is responsible for investigating and resolving utility billing issues to mitigate account disconnection. This role also involves conducting root cause analysis, engaging with utility vendors to request late fee waivers and negotiating payment extensions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled in vendor negotiation and cross-functional (internal) communication.
Responsibilities
- Review prior balances and balance forwards on utility bills.
- Disconnects and Late Notices Review and Resolution
- Contact utility vendors to request delayed invoices to mitigate service disconnection.
- Negotiate with vendors to waive late fees and secure payment extensions.
- Coordinate with the BillPay team and client-facing teams on issues that require client involvement to resolve, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
