Millwright & Hoist Mechanic

Responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of all mine hoisting systems and underground assets. This role provides hands‑on leadership to hoist mechanics while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

This is a safety‑critical leadership position overseeing equipment essential to the safe transport of personnel and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of preventative maintenance and inspections on hoist systems.
• Maintain and repair hoists (drum), braking systems and safety devices, hoist ropes, drums and sheaves, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems.
• Review and approve mechanical log books and inspection reports.
• Lead troubleshooting and responses to hoist breakdowns or critical issues.
• Plan and execute major maintenance activities (rope changes, rebuilds, shutdowns).
