Job Description Overview
The Metrology Technician is responsible for measurements using laser trackers, laser scanners, 3D modeling, calibration, and qualification requirements and operations. This employee reports to the Metrology Manager/Metrology Lead Technologist.
Responsibilities
- Support planning and execution of field assignments in a team environment under the guidance of the Metrology Manager.
- Perform measurements using laser trackers, laser scanners, and create 3D models.
- Operate metrology, surveying, alignment, and layout instruments.
- Use CAD software (Spatial Analyzer, PolyWorks, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Cyclone) for 3D modeling.
- Complete all associated documentation and forms within a Construction Work Plan.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, project managers, project personnel, estimating personnel, and trades personnel.
