Job Description:
The Merchandiser (Butcher) is responsible for preparing, cutting, and displaying meat products in an attractive and sanitary manner to maximize sales. This role combines traditional butchering skills with merchandising strategies to ensure meat products meet customer expectations in quality, freshness, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Meat Preparation & Cutting
- Cut, trim, debone, and portion meat (poultry) according to customer needs and company standards.
- Use knives and other meat‑processing equipment safely and efficiently.
Merchandising & Display
- Arrange and replenish meat displays attractively to promote product sales.
- Ensure displays are full, clean, and labeled correctly with pricing and product information.
- Monitor and rotate stock to ensure freshness and reduce waste (FIFO method).
