This role requires that all individuals on the team hold one of the following current/active certifications: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 License (CPT1), California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 License (CPT2), California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS), or California Medical Laboratory Technician License (MLT).
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reaction(s) in accordance with SOPs, including following applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, developing Center Physician’s standing orders, and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
