The Coding Educator is responsible for administering medical coding training modules according to approved Conifer curricula. They are also responsible for ensuring that trainees are able to successfully apply their learning in an operations environment, audit the work of newly-trained employees, and respond to coding questions escalated by the coding operations team. They are expected to abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities and duties (45%):
- Administers Conifer-approved medical coding training modules as part of the Conifer Coding University, including COC, CPC, and specialty coding classes.
- Provides regular monthly and quarterly education to operations coding teams and ad hoc education based on audit results.
