Found Description
This position is responsible for providingrepair and maintenance to a fleet of snow plows, salters, dump trucks, heavy and light trucks and loaders, etc. This positionincludes diagnosis of causes of breakdown, ordering required parts, removal, rework and installation of various engine and chassis components, as well as implementing and /or modifying maintenance schedules. Work assignments will be received in the form of oral or written work orders, but the Mechanic will be expected to determine the nature and extent of the necessary repairs.
Job Duties
- Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components
- Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered units
- Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop and road calls when required
- Operate automotive servicing equipment
- Installation of new and added-on equipment
