DutiesMath Background Tutorials (MBT) is a workshop designed to help incoming and current students prepare for university-level math and numeracy courses. It aims to help support a smooth transition from high school to university math courses. Students will prepare for university level university-level by working through a comprehensive review of essential concepts in algebra, trigonometry, and functions. Effective study techniques and problem-solving strategies will also be discussed. TAs will participate in a two-day training session prior to the beginning of the MBT Workshop. They will facilitate daily tutorial sessions following the MBT workshop methodology for the duration of the MBT Workshop and participate in a daily debrief at the end of each session. They will also grade quizzes and assist students in solving problems during sessions.
