Our client, a successful fintech company in North Toronto, is seeking to hire a Manager, Software Engineering (hybrid, 4 days/week).

About the Opportunity

• This position will lead a development team working on modernizing a commercial software product from legacy Java (v7-8) backend to API and microservice‑driven architecture on Java v21 and AWS/terraform.
• The person in this role is expected to be both technical and have strong team leadership experience.
• There is no coding expected in the role, outside of digging into code with developers for quality review or coaching purposes; however, this person is expected to come from heavy hands‑on Java roles.
• This position will lead architecture and evolution of the dev environment, dev processes and frameworks, app infrastructure, etc.
