Makaton Teaching Assistant - Sunderland

Protocol Education is currently recruiting a caring and enthusiastic Makaton Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a specialist educational setting in Sunderland.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of communication beyond words and can help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for children with additional needs.

The Role:

• Support pupils with Autism (ASC), Speech & Language needs, and complex communication difficulties
• Use Makaton daily to support understanding, routines, and emotional expression
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and wider SEND professionals
