Live-In Support Workers, Multiple Positions (Port Alberni)

The Program

At Taproot Community Support Services, we’re a 100 percent employee-owned organization through an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). We deliver support across Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario through more than 90 contracts and provide culturally based programming, support, and safe, home‑based accommodations for youth in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and an Indigenous funded agency (Usma). These 24‑hour live‑in shifts provide long‑term therapeutic care for up to three children or youth who have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences, or other adversities.

The Community Living programs provide essential services to adults, offering personalized support that stresses independence, supports unique strengths and qualities, and encourages integration into the community.
