Qualifications and Standards
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food and beverage service or food preparation positions
- Good working knowledge of sanitation standards and health codes
- Experience with hot and cold food preparation
- Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare meals for customers
- Weigh, measure, mix, and prep ingredients according to recipes
- Steam, grill, boil, bake, or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients
- Check food and ingredients for freshness
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before serving
- Keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly
