A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive patient and family care on an acute surgical unit in accordance with RAH and AHS policy and procedures. Staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital serves a unique inner-city population and we want to do it well. The Surgery Inpatient program maintains the expectation that all employees do so with pride, compassion, and respect. PCU 32 is a 23-bed unit providing care to orthopedic and fractured hip patients. Patients are received from the operating room, emergency department, intensive care units, and directly from home and/or medical clinics. We have modified nursing care on all shifts with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and health care aides working cohesively within the collaborative model of care.
