The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area. Key duties include washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans; cleaning kitchen surfaces and equipment; disposing of garbage properly; and ensuring all cleaning tools are in good condition. The role also involves assisting chefs with basic tasks such as organizing ingredients, restocking supplies, and ensuring the kitchen is safe and orderly at all times.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry, or move supplies and equipment
- Strong sense of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
- Willing to follow kitchen safety and hygiene standards
- Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward or in a kitchen environment is an advantage
