Kitchen Helper - West Edmonton

Role Summary

As a Child Care Kitchen Helper, you will be responsible for supporting the Child Care Chef with the daily operations of the kitchen. To clean, stock, maintain the kitchen as well as help with the preparation of meal ingredients.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring a clean, sanitized environment, including washing, and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking equipment and cutting boards; mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as required
• Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
• Label and date open packages in fridge & freezer practicing FIFO
• Prepare, season, and cook food as directed, meeting allergy and dietary requirements where required
• Being mindful of proper portion size served to children
• Being hands on in the prevention of choking hazards
• Following the Canada Food Guide to ensure nutritional needs are met
