What You Would Do in This Role
The Junior Buyer is responsible for performing procurement activities to ensure the timely purchase of materials and equipment to meet project requirements.
- Working within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects
- Ensuring timely and cost‑effective procurement while adhering to client requirements and proper procurement practices
- Updating purchasing and expediting milestone dates in the procurement software
- Preparing, issuing and evaluating standard procurement documents including bid lists, request for quotation and commercial bid evaluations
- Purchasing electrical, instrumentation and piping commodity materials and equipment
- Executing appropriate bidding strategies
- Creating and issuing purchase orders for materials
- Assisting in the negotiation of progress payments
- Developing and managing vendor/contractor relationships
