Intern, Aircraft Systems Research & Technology - Software Engineering (Fall 2026)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate PLM data interoperability needs and standards
• Devise a schema to integrate process- and need-specific cross-disciplinary vendor and in-house tooling
• Evaluate available data interoperability solution frameworks and perform a gap analysis
• Initiation, development and testing of APIs to support integration of: SysML v2 data using REST APIs, vendor and in-house design tooling, centralized PLM repository
• Investigate model query schemas employing native AI tools and protocols (e.g. Copilot, MCP)

Qualifications

• Familiarity with SE, MBSE, simulation, PLM concepts and tools
• Experience in integrating software tools across API implementations
• Awareness of challenges and means to best implement cross-tool interoperability schemes and implementations
• Familiarity with data exchange frameworks, protocols and formats (e.g. DoDAF, MOSA, OSLC, REST APIs, STEP, ReqIF, JS...
