Job Summary The Intermediate Transmission Line Engineer will join the Transmission & Distribution Electrical team and contribute to innovative substation projects that strengthen grid reliability, support renewable energy integration, and shape Canada’s energy future. The role may be based in any of WSP’s Western Canada offices, with preference for Edmonton.
Responsibilities
Lead technical aspects of transmission line design projects (34.5kV–500kV), including new lines, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, structure replacements, and fiber optic additions
Prepare and review design deliverables such as plan and profile drawings, material selection, and construction specifications
Conduct quality reviews of internal and subcontractor deliverables
Manage and prioritize multiple projects within budget and time constraints
Evaluate technical options, criteria, and routes for design merit
