Intermediate Civil Highway Designer (Greater Sudbury)

Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking an Intermediate Civil Highway Designer based in our Sudbury, ON, Canada office. This is a newly created full‑time position expected to begin as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Design highways using OpenRoads Designer software.
• Coordinate and assist with provincial and municipal design projects.
• Develop preliminary and detailed design based on engineering reports, detailed notes, and client specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings, including plans, profiles, cross‑sections, geometrics, drainage and utilities.
• Prepare design quantities, cost estimates, and provide technical support throughout the tendering and construction processes.
• Participate in meetings with internal staff, sub‑consultants, and clients, documenting decisions and following up on action items.
