Position Summary
Course Description:Students will learn basic conversation, structure, and pronunciation with a focus on listening and speaking during Ayajuthem language immersion sets. The units will cover a wide variety of themes including greetings, social interaction, activities of daily living, community, environment, and culture. Combined, these encompass worldview and give insight into how Ayajuthem is essential to who we are as Homalco, Klahoose, K’omoks, and Tla’amin First Nations people. Students will gain a basic understanding of learner strategies and methods that are advantageous for Indigenous language acquisition.
