Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager of Health Services, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating specialized breastfeeding support services as part of the Women’s Health Program, ensuring culturally grounded care, collaborating with other health professionals, and educating patients, families, staff, and students on Indigenous breastfeeding knowledge and beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Coordination of care related to specialized breastfeeding support for the Women’s Health Program.
• Providing quality care grounded in Indigenous worldview.
• Acting as a resource to other health care professionals.
• Participating in the discharge process.
• Educating patients, family, staff and students about Indigenous breastfeeding knowledge and beliefs.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
