In-Home Support Worker
Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services is looking for four qualified individuals to serve as In-Home Support Workers. The role reports directly to the immediate supervisor and focuses on culturally appropriate child and family support within the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory (WUT), guided by Wiikwemkoong’s Gchi Naaknigewin, Children’s Bill of Rights, and Community Standards.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for families at risk of child welfare involvement and ensure their rights are upheld.
- Offer support, guidance, and resources to families navigating the child welfare system.
- Conduct regular home visits to assess the family environment, provide support, and monitor progress.
- Connect families with necessary services and resources, including parenting, budgeting, counseling, drug and alcohol services, healthcare, education, and housing assistance.
