ROLE

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment such as dozer, loader, grader, excavator/backhoe, scraper, rock truck, skid steer, pakker, mule trax, and tracked dump truck.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate heavy equipment to lift, move or place equipment or materials.
• Load and unload equipment.
• Be aware of situational hazards, including blind spots, pinch points, road crossings, power lines, conflicting right-of-way traffic and proper use of tag lines.
• Operate equipment safely in various terrains such as steep slopes.
• Perform daily safety and routine maintenance checks.
• Conduct daily pre‑operation inspections and maintenance on equipment.
