Åbo Akademi University is seeking a Head of Research in Bioscience (Principal Investigator) for a full‑time, fixed‑term position at the Turku Bioscience Centre, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Turku, Finland. The appointment commences 1 May 2026 and lasts until 30 April 2031.

Profile and Tasks

We seek an excellent researcher whose work aligns with the department’s interests in immunology, oncology, cell biology, neuroscience, computational biology and drug discovery. Candidates should use cutting‑edge methods to study biologically and medically relevant cellular processes, and ideally will benefit from our high‑end technology platforms.

The main tasks are:

• Establish and manage an independent research group and conduct high‑level bioscience research.
