Head Cargo Maintenance Specialist McKeil Marine

Take the lead in cargo maintenance with McKeil Marine. As Head Cargo Maintenance on our new self-unloading vessel, you'll ensure optimal cargo handling and safety on the Great Lakes.
This role reports directly to the Chief Engineer, focusing on maintaining cargo handling equipment. Ideal candidates possess at least two years of self-unloader experience and a solid understanding of conveyor systems. You're expected to oversee and ensure efficient cargo discharge while leading a small team and enhancing safety protocols throughout operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of handling equipment
• Inspect and maintain conveying systems and related frameworks
• Ensure safe operations of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Coordinate with Chief Mate for cargo discharge procedures
• Report daily on equipment status to the Chief Engineer
