Waste Services plays an integral role in the day-to-day lives of Edmontonians by collecting, processing and disposing of solid waste for residential and non-residential customers. These functions are supported through education, volunteer and community programs; research and development; monitoring and compliance; business planning; and strong financial and utility management.

Working in an integrated business model, the General Supervisor is responsible for providing overall direction and making day-to-day decisions that ensure the best use of equipment, personnel, and contracted resources for processing solid waste within the Integrated Processing and Transfer Facility, maximizing diversion from landfill.
