Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities who design and implement long-term biodiversity and conservation management research programmes in countries worldwide.
We are currently recruiting a General Ecologist to lead surveys and deliver lectures at our South Africa terrestrial project in Kwa Zulu-Natal .
Dates: 15 June – 1 August The role includes a period of on-site training prior to the arrival of student groups. Role overview
This is a varied and hands‑on position, involving both fieldwork and teaching. Responsibilities will include:
Co‑leading vegetation surveys
Conducting bird point count surveys
Supporting large game distance sampling surveys
Overseeing data entry
Delivering our lecture series to school groups and university students
Potential for involvement in other surveys, such as camera trapping, light trapping, and opportunistic behaviour observations Essential requirements...
