General Accountant & Payroll Associate (Barrie)

General Description

The General Accountant and Payroll Associate is responsible and accountable for all payroll functions related to Finance. In addition, the ideal candidate is well‑versed in all accounting procedures and has a natural aptitude for numbers.

Duties / Responsibilities

• All payroll functions and reporting including year end reconciliation with WSIB, CRA etc.
• Entering journal entries at month end
• Reconcile the balance sheet accounts assigned to the position
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for financial reporting and operational efficiency
