Summary of the role and responsibilities
- Analyze on premises transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, evaluate and plan migrations to AWS RDS, Aurora
- Develop/Enhance database PLSQL scripts/TSQL to migrate from source database to target database
- Identity workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration
- Automate solutions for repeatable problems
- Help design and implement AWS RDS and Aurora architectures and configurations for customer
- Consult for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance
- 10+ year of experience (3+ years working on Heterogeneous DB migration on AWS)
