FITTER-WELDER - Permanent position

Overview

Ability to work in a safe and production manner. Read and interpret engineered drawings. Knowledge of welding principles and methods. Skills in welding methods: SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW. Ability to follow written and oral directions.

Responsibilities

• Layout and fit materials according to specifications, ensuring all tolerances are met
• Experience with grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and forklifts, cranes, hoists, shears, saws, ironworkers and brake press
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
• Layout and fitting as directed by drawing
• Read and follow weld procedures, QC plans, and other work instruction documents
• Understanding of tolerances and the importance of maintaining them
• Setup and adjustment of welding machines and plasma torches
• Practice good housekeeping by keeping the work area clean and clear of obstructions
