Fire Specialist Training Officer

Reporting to the Deputy Fire Marshal, the Fire Specialist Training Officer (Officer) is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing public and professional fire training programs for municipal, industrial, commercial, and institutional fire protection agencies. The Officer assists with implementing fire safety prevention programs across all sectors within Nunavut.

Responsibilities

The Officer will:

• Research, develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs covering all aspects of fire protection and prevention, including public education and training for mining and exploration sites.
• Promote standardized, effective training for stakeholders, including schools, hospitals, elder care homes, detention centers, fire departments, community groups, organizations, and mining industry staff.
