POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Design & Field Engineering, is responsible for field design, construction layout, inspection, and surveying.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises, trains, and provides direction to field staff, seasonal employees, and students for the day-to-day operation for engineering projects.
- Liaises with project engineers, contractors, utility companies, City departments, businesses, and the general public on concerns related to City Engineering Division operations.
- Organizes and supervises the construction, inspection, and survey layout with strict adherence to all standards and specifications of construction work performed by contractors and various City divisions.
- Designs surface grades and alignments to meet existing infrastructure.
- Addresses field problems encountered on City projects and co-ordinates their resolve.
