Family Counsellor (Calgary)

Reporting to the Manager for the Summit Walk In program, the Family Counselor provides direct clinical assessment and support for families experiencing acute mental health crisis. The Family counselor provides brief interventions within the Summit: Jim & Marian Sinneave Centre for Youth Resilience Walk In Program, and provides suggestions, resources, and follow‑up care that can be facilitated by the family within the patient home or community. The Family Counselors engage with families to identify pressing needs and resources to navigate through the mental health crisis of the patient and the family, using a collaborative, focused, and supportive approach to short‑term care.
