Equipment Operator 2 - Continuing

SUMMARY: Reports to the Manager, Maintenance Services and works under the direction of the Foreperson-Grounds. Performs skilled and semi-skilled manual tasks related to the maintenance, repair and upgrade of district grounds, sports fields and playground equipment. Operates a variety of grounds maintenance vehicles and equipmentDUTIES:1.Operates the backhoe and related attachments. Performs excavation, trenching, and levelling of a variety of materials. Verifies underground conditions, systems and equipment prior to digging. 2. May be required to operate other grounds heavy equipment including dump truck and attachments, tractor trailer, front end loaders, gang mowers and other equipment to facilitate the function of the grounds and other departments. Loads/unloads, hauls grounds equipment, materials and supplies to/from job sites. Operates equipment to spread materials on job sites.3.
