Position Overview
Working an average of 50 hours per week on job sites in Northern Ontario, you will be reporting to your supervisor. A pipe layer responsibility’s focus on installing underground infrastructure and pipes to specification while maintaining safety and quality. A pipe layer performs physical tasks, working outside in the elements in a team environment and around heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and assist with hand tools and heavy equipment for excavation and backfill around existing utilities.
- Understand how to interpret drawings, locate sheets, and how to safely expose existing underground infrastructure.
- Assess the ground condition for trench safety and the ground quality for the pipe bedding.
- Set up and monitor dewatering and bypass systems.
- Install main pipe, service lines, valves, hydrants, precast structures, etc. for storm systems, sanitation sewers, and potable water lines ...
