Responsibilities

The Building Operations Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The role serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers and ensures that mission‑critical equipment maintains better than 99.999% uptime.

Key duties include:

• Maintaining generators, UPS systems, switchboards, and building automation systems.
• Responding to electrical and mechanical incidents that affect Amazon’s availability.
• Driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Providing after‑hours and on‑call support as required.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and preventive maintenance schedules.
