Employment Development Specialist (GCOS Project)

Job Summary

Employment Development Specialist – Full time, 8‑month term with possibility of permanent. Supports eligible participants with disabilities through 12 weeks of work experience and employment services in The Pas, Thompson, Dauphin and surrounding areas. Provides office and financial administration for Rural Remote Enhanced Employment Services project funded by GCOS Opportunities Fund.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants to prepare for and obtain employment that is within their potential.
• Represent participants or provide assistance to participants in representing themselves to employers to secure employment that is within the individual’s capabilities, including pre‑employment/employment counselling, resume submission, cold calling, direct marketing, meeting with employers, highlighting benefits of hiring people with disabilities, job development/re‑design, setting up a work assessment and/or Training on the Job work experie...
