Overview

Kinuso School is located in the Hamlet of Kinuso, 48 kilometres west of Slave Lake on the southern shores of Lesser Slave Lake. The school serves 250 students from kindergarten to Grade 12 and has 37 staff members. Programs in the arts, education, and extracurricular activities are offered, and the school houses the community library. Annual public functions such as Remembrance Day, Italian Knights Supper, and celebratory ceremonies, as well as fundraisers and athletic events, are well attended and supported by families and community stakeholders. Students develop leadership through the Student Leadership Council and the Youth Truth and Reconciliation Council. The school is honoured by its partnership with the Swan River Knowledge Keepers, which provides generous land‑based learning experiences.
