Doctoral Researcher – Transport Studies

Position overview: The researcher will be embedded in the Spatial Planning and Transportation (SPT) research group and contribute to the CO‑SPACES research project funded by the Research Council of Finland.

CO‑SPACES aims to assess the benefits and burdens of current and future urban street space distribution in Finnish cities, focusing on societal impacts, equity implications, and how to integrate these assessments into local governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on governance surrounding urban transport, capturing diverse actors’ views and reimagining governance processes.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team on mixed‑methodological and applied research questions.
• Assist in preparing new research proposals and advise master’s students.
