District Resource Liaison Specialist

The Ministry of Natural Resources is looking for a strong team player to provide expert coordination and advice to help the ministry collaborate with Indigenous communities on resource management programs in the Red Lake Sioux Lookout District. This position works closely with Indigenous communities through consultation, engagement and knowledge building opportunities, and is focused on developing and maintaining relationships through excellent communications.

In this role, you will:

• Act as the ministry representative in fulfilling the Crown's duty to consult (Section 35 of the Constitution) for land use and resource management programs
• Provide advice, plan and lead Indigenous programs and initiatives
• Promote understanding, cooperation and participation in the ministry's sustainable resource management programs with a focus on lands and resource allocation with communities and other users
